Andrew Stauffer (Kelowna, BC) is a percussionist, composer, and sound artist from Texas whose work explores the communication and translation of ideas between artistic disciplines, the sonic possibilities of sundry objects, improvisation, and community. He collaborates with dancers, spoken word, and theatre/performance artists, and has performed and recorded percussion in jazz, avant-garde, folk, and pop bands.
Possessing a strong dedication to creating and connecting his community through the arts, Andrew is the Theatre Programming Director at the Rotary Centre for the Arts, where he curates the season RCA Presents Series of music, dance, theatre, and multidisciplinary performances. His work at the RCA includes planning exhibitions and developing community partnerships throughout the Okanagan. He is on the board of directors for Chamber Music Kelowna, Classical Valley Chamber Music Festival, and the advisory board for the Living Things Festival.
Andrew holds an M.Div. from Harvard Divinity School, where his research focused on the intersection between music and spirituality, and an M.A. in philosophy from Ohio University where his research explored ethics and aesthetics.
